Do you want to help save the redwoods?  There is an ongoing effort to protect an old-growth forest in Mendocino County from logging right now!  The site is west of Willits, in exactly the same location as the fictional Big Tree Grove on Huckleberry Ranch in OPERATION REDWOOD.  You can read more about it in the San Francisco Chronicle article (click here), or help Save The Redwoods League purchase this important property.

OPERATION REDWOOD is chosen by the Library of Congress to represent California during the
National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.!

OPERATION REDWOOD wins the 2010 Youth Fiction Award from the Santa Monica Public Library as part of its Green Prize for Sustainable Literature Awards.  Click

Reiser Book Award given annually to the children’s book published the preceding year that most effectively inspires community service and volunteerism in children.  Thank you to the Metro Atlanta Corporate Volunteer Council, which donated $1,000 to Save the Redwoods League as part of the award!

OPERATION REDWOOD is listed in "Green Reading for Kids" by the National Environmental Education Foundation.
